Oh, that awful Nephew didn’t put you up to this did he?
i think you should move out west Spudz and grow taters, they are real good. Lots of small towns out there. If ya do maybe we could meet and wiggle our toes in the sand somewhere.
You sound real cute!
What country are interested in…Arizona is Lovely dry and the weather is perfect.
Italy countryside, the Compania region is absolutely breathtaking, affordable and peaceful, Pasteum.
well if i was you and did not have to much baggage i would try a few places first — just go rent a furnished place and check it out — after being retired for almost 10 years i finally moved back to my little midwest home town — had not lived there for over 50 years but i blended back in and have re kindle some of my old high school friends!!!
Depends on what you are looking for and how you plan to live. One senior idea is don’t get a pig in a poke without seeing it first. Sometimes your own backyard is the best place to be.
Silver City, New Mexico. It’s high in elevation so it has a moderate climate. It’s a gorgeous City, but small enough so you can feel safe and comfortable. If you want to hit the fast lane for a weekend, you’re close to Phoenix and Tucson. Also, it has a University which adds intellectual stimulation and is near the Gila National Wilderness, the Gila Cliff Dwellings and White Sands.
If you can keep the farm and move to a few cities you are interested in rent for a while see if you like it .
I am so glad we did that.
My husband and I have been travelling for us there is “No” Place like home. Napa Valley, California is the place for us.
Thank God we didn’t sell our house we would never be able to buy it back .
i think you would like it in sarasota,fl….ck. out the prices on condos…3 yrs ago, you couldn’t buy anything less than 100 and last wk..i noticed one at 39….it had hardware floors 2 br..1 and a half bath..and cute as a button… the newpaper to ck is
Can I buy your farm? Depends on what kinda land you like. Son’t move to Florida unless you really like the heat , Hurricanes, Aligaters and plus its having the worse debt problem in the country right now. I would be afraid of riots and theft and crime. Just stay on the farm. You will miss it to much if you sell it.
The southwest is nice. Do a lot of research. You can find out so much about places on line. Find a place that suits your needs, your hobbies, your life style. Make sure you find the climate you like. Someone mentioned Florida. It’s wonderful, but if you **** humidity, it’s not for you. It’s also expensive and prone to hurricanes. Parts of the southwest are hotter than blazes. Some have snow in the winter. One place worth checking out is Prescott, AZ. Good luck to you. Enjoy your retirement.
I’ve heard the coast of NC is nice. It doesn’t get very cold there. The people are mostly good honest people, and the cost of living isn’t as high as some other places. I’ve been there several times. Its beautiful and peaceful.
I remember you from when you took your trip to the big city. If I were you I would visit a few places first before I move lock, stock & barrel, sometimes you realize there is no place like home. How about just going a way for the winter and coming back in the summer ” depending where you Live”
We plan to sell our farm in about 10 years. We will purchase a small home locally with little upkeep required. We would like to hit the road in a travel trailer and explore the west/southwest. If we find an area that we really love we would consider settling there. I’m over the cold Indiana winters. I would love to live somewhere that one can garden all through the year. Looking forward to a slow, peaceful existence if there is such a thing out there.
my relatives live in southern Indiana, the weather is nice, you get to see all 4 seasons, no severe winters….economy is good, living is not expensive….we love to go there and visit
I’m sure a lot of people would like you to move to the Southwest, to help pay for the cost of taxes and cost of living.
The “Thumb” of Michigan on the other hand was chosen as the sports mans paradise, in hunting IE: Turkey, Whitetail Deer, Black Bear. Fishing IE: Salmon, Coho, Rainbow Trout, Beautiful and clear Lake Huron, pristine beaches.
I moved hear twelve years ago and have never been sorry. I bought a twenty five foot boat and live on the water. Most winters you can cut your grass until Christmas.
You should call the Chamber of Commerce and have them send you literature on the state you are considering!! Then see if their recreation fits your needs and go for it!! Lucky you!!! If you’re coming from the farm I suggest you don’t go to the city unless you have a bullet-proof vest!! LOL!!!
We moved to a small town near Lake Michigan. Very nice people. Inexpensive. Many out doors activities if you can stand the cold and enjoy ice fishing and nature. People are so kind and helpful. Summers and Fall are incredible.
I agree with others that i would try many different places before I commit to anything.
wow! looks like thirty travel agents on this site.
Lots of great places to live in US.
do you prefer hurricanes to earth quakes? Hot vs. moderate? Mountains to valleys?
Do you like a lot of cultural activity or mainly just quiet?
My uncle chose a small town in Arkansas which was quiet
and low cost. Dad chose Florida which offered great cultural
activities as well as great beaches but had much higher
living costs. Both were happy.

It is not a very good time to be selling spud. Try leasing out the farm till you are certain that a move is what you want.
Travel around some so you can get a feeling of where you might want to live.
Vegas is nice. Lots of show girls there.
Good luck and don’t stay away so long next time
